Sam Gould sweeps two titles

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Sam Gould (Greencastle, Ind./South Putnam High School) won both the one-meter and three-meter championships at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan University to lead four all-league performances.

Gould won the one-meter diving competition with 401.85 points and captured the three-meter title with 431.70 points. He increased his career all-CCIW totals to three individual league championships and six all-conference honors with the performance.

Junior Josh Maurer added finishes of second in three-meter diving and fifth in one-meter. Maurer earned all-conference honors with his runner-up finish in three-meter diving featuring 380.25 points. He also scored 348.55 points in one-meter.

Junior Regen Foote added her fifth career all-conference award with 323.70 points to finish third in the women's three-meter diving competition on Friday night. Foote also finished fourth in one-meter with 340.35 points.

Senior Robert Larson provided depth to the men's performance with a sixth place in three-meter diving (262.40 points) and a seventh in one-meter (261.70 points).

On the women's side, Aleigh Ohslund added a ninth-place finish in one-meter diving with 238.90 points.

The results will also count as points toward the CCIW Swimming Championships that take place Feb. 12-14 in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
