The Greencastle Girls JV Basketball team beat the Monrovia Bulldogs last Friday evening to finish their season with a 14-5 record. The Lady Tiger Cubs were in a battle early in the contest as both teams were playing well. GHS led 10-9 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Tiger Cubs really picked things up from that point going forward, outscoring the Bulldogs 32-10 over the last 3 quarters and went on to get the victory with a final score of 42-19.

The final stat line for the Lady Tiger Cubs was very impressive. Eight different players combined to score 42 points, connecting on 10-20 free throws, and only had 12 turnovers in the game.

The GHS balanced scoring attack was led by Marin Nally leading all scorers, with 11 points, followed by Grace Paul with 10 points, Gracie Smith with six points, Julia Mundy and Kaitlyn Patterson with four points each, Rose White and Macey Masten each adding 3 points, and Emily Steadmon with 1 point.

Coach Welker was very proud of the team after the victory.

"It was a great team win, every player contributed to this victory tonight," Welker said. "We played very unselfish basketball and our shot selection was excellent. We have a very good group of players, they worked extremely hard all season and everyone improved. We're excited we could finish the season with a win to complete what has been a very successful season. The future looks very bright for the GHS girls' basketball program."
