CLOVERDALE -- A home in Cloverdale caught fire and is being declared a "total loss" by the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department (CTVFD).

At 1:14 p.m. Monday afternoon, CTVFD were dispatched to 2316 E. CR 1000 South, Cloverdale but the frigid temperatures made fighting the blaze especially difficult.

Additional fire-fighting units were provided by the Greencastle Fire Department, Cataract Fire Department, Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department and Reelsville Voluntary Fire Department as well as assistance from both Operation Life and the Cloverdale Police Department.

Firefighters were able to secure a water supply from a hydrant in the rear of Stardust Hills housing and which subsequently shut down Burma Road for several hours as the department's extinguished the fire.

Nobody was home at the residence, owned by Aaron Howard, and no injuries were reported from the incident.
