Endeavor announces scholarship opportunities

CLOVERDALE -- Endeavor Communications is once again offering 12 Cedric Ray Memorial Scholarships worth $1,000 each to eligible high school seniors.

Endeavor has also teamed up with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) which has 30 scholarships for $2,000 each.

If a student is selected to receive the latter scholarship, Endeavor will also contribute an additional $500 to it, bringing the total one-time scholarship award to $2,500. Students who apply for the FRS Scholarship are automatically eligible for eight other scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $15,000 each.

Endeavor, which is dedicated to improving educational opportunities for children of its members, also is sponsoring two high school students ages 16- 17 on a five-day, four-night all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. The teens will be part of the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Youth Tour.

The group will include 100 students along with 20 chaperones from all over the nation. The tour is scheduled from May 30-June 3, 2015. Stops include the Arlington National Cemetery, Smithsonian Museums, the FDR, Korea, and World War II Memorials and a tour of D.C. at night. Students will also be able to stop by the Capitol and see legislation at work.

To be eligible for any of the above opportunities, the student must live with a parent or guardian who is a member of Endeavor Communications and maintains their primary residential telephone service with Endeavor.
