CLOVERDALE--Senior Clover Marquise Moore was unstoppable when Eminence played against the Cloverdale basketball team Friday, as the Clovers handled the Eels on Senior Night 91-67.

The first quarter started out physical with many Clovers contributing to the early lead. The fast-paced action saw five Clovers add to the scoreboard, including a three by sophomore Duke Duff and another by sophomore Cooper Neese.

"This is a ball club that we knew would get out and race up the floor," Rady said. "They had some quickness and it was a good challenge for us."

The Clovers were up for the challenge as they ran with the Eels and increased their 20-13 first-quarter lead.

Neither team slowed the pace in the second quarter and Eminence's Brennon Ringler and Marquise Moore went back and forth making good plays for their team. Ringler scored 12 points with two threes in the second but he was outperformed by Moore who dropped 21 points in the quarter with five from long-range. That coupled with a three from freshman Jalen Moore and two more threes from Duff left Cloverdale in a great position going into halftime.

Even with the Eels' steady offensive pressure they couldn't cut into the lead due to the Clover effort.

"(Coach Rady) told us we were doing a great job on offense but, if we want to be a great ball club it has to be defense first," Marquise Moore said. "We've got to get stops and that will lead to scoring as much points as we want to score."

The defense began forcing steals and making passes difficult for Eminence while the offense capitalized. Cloverdale forced 16 turnovers to Eminence's 8.

"They are a pretty good ball club," Marquise Moore said. "They're tough. They were knocking down shots in the third and fourth quarter and our defense was getting sloppy. But we just had to stay with it. It was a tough one."

Marquise Moore scored 11 points in the third quarter with Neese scoring four of his 15 points in the third. Senior Brantson Scott was productive all game long, scoring 12 points and Coleman played well getting work done from the line and the floor leading to his 12 points.

"You always hate to see a season end when you have great kids," Rady said. "I shouldn't say kids. I'll say young men. We've really come along. Since Christmas we are 11-1. We are playing well."

The seniors were honored after the win as Rady substituted the out and each received an ovation from the packed gym at Cloverdale.

"You hate to see that moment come," Rady said. "But you cherish that moment and you are always thankful to get to be around young men like Marquise, Bratson, K.J. and Tyler."

Marquise Moore said he was thankful for his time on the team with his Clover seniors and other teammates.

"I've never thought I could be around so many people that enjoy having me around and loving me from friends to teammates and coaches," Moore said. "It's been a very great season."
