Wittwer Grabs NCAC Weekly Honor

Senior Julie Wittwer (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Grosse Point South) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference women's tennis player of the week after helping the Tigers earn a pair of victories last Saturday.

Wittwer posted a perfect 4-0 record in DePauw's victories over Olivet Nazarene and Rhodes. Against Olivet Nazarene she won her No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-0 and teamed with Kaitlin Pickrel to pick up an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.

In the match against Rhodes, Wittwer notched a 6-2, 6-4 victory in No. 3 singles and again teamed with Pickrel to earn an 8-2 win in the No. 2 doubles position.

Wittwer and the #11 Tigers compete against 12th-ranked Chicago on Friday, February 27, in the first round of the ITA Division III Indoor National Team Championship, hosted by DePauw.
