Jerry D. Andrews, 74, Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Putnam County, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.

Born April 26, 1940 in Jasper County, he was the son of the late Earl H. and Lucy (Williams) Andrews.

Jerry was a Greencastle High School graduate and he earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana State University.

He was a teacher and a coach at South Putnam High School and Cloverdale High School in the early 1970s.

He later went into sales, working many years for Farr Filters and then retiring from Clarcor Air Filtration Products Inc. in 1997.

Jerry married Rachel Ann Cooper on Nov. 24, 1972, and she survives.

He is also survived by his stepchildren, Debbie (Bruce) Prather of Urbana, Ill., Terry (Kim) Nichols of Greencastle and Beth (Steve) Baker of Ellsworth, Ill.; three nieces; three nephews; and he was "Papa Jer" to six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob Andrews and Grover Vaughan; and a sister, Helen Mandabach.

At Season's End Mortuary, Apache Junction, Ariz., assisted the family with arrangements.
