Snow sculpture contest entries due March 4

Friday, February 27, 2015

For most of winter 2014-15, Greencastle residents haven't have much snow to play with.

In fact, as of the Feb. 5 Park Board meeting the Greencastle Park and Recreation Department had yet to receive its first Snow Sculpture Contest entry.

But with the recent snow that's fallen on the Greencastle area (more than a foot during February), the opportunity is there to build a snowman, snow creature or a snow sculpture and submit a photo of your creation to the Greencastle Park and Recreation Department by Wednesday, March 4.

The top two entries in the categories Best Snowman, Best Snow Creature and the Best Snow Sculpture (which is anything besides the first two) will win.

The contest is a free program.

Park officials will be announcing the winners at the Park Board meeting on Thursday, March 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Special registration forms (available at City Hall) are required and need to be mailed or e-mailed with a photo to pcornelius@cityofgreencastle.com or returned with a photo to Greencastle City Hall, P.O. Box 607, 1 N. Locust St., Greencastle, IN 46135.

For more information persons may contact Phil Cornelius at 653-3395 or by email at pcornelius@cityofgreencastle.com.
