Coming off a 69-56 win over Wooster in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship game, the DePauw men's basketball team opens NCAA Division III Championship play on Thursday at 17th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis at 9 p.m.
The ticket booth will open one hour prior to tip-off Thursday. Ticket prices are $3 for students with an ID and $6 for adults. Tickets will not be sold prior to the box office opening.
The Tigers enter the tournament with a 19-9 record, while the Bears are 20-5 after finishing second in the University Athletic Association and earning an at-large spot in the 62-team NCAA field.
DePauw leads the all-time series, 17-10, after Washington won the last meeting by a 71-60 score in St. Louis. The teams met in the NCAA Round of 16 in 2002 with DePauw taking a 90-87 win.
DePauw is making its 13th appearance in the NCAA Division III postseason and first since 2007 when the Tigers lost, 62-59, in overtime to Whitworth in a first-round game on Washington University's court.
DePauw finished as national runner-up in 1990 and was third in 1984.
