Tiger women land three on All-NCAC teams

Seniors Savannah Trees and Hannah Douglas headline the DePauw women's basketball All-North Coast Athletic Conference selections for the 2014-15 season as voted on by conference coaches.

The Tigers had three student-athletes recognized as Trees and Douglas earned first-team recognition, while senior Emma Ondik grabbed second-team honors.

Trees is making her second-straight appearance on the first-team after being on the second-team in 2013. The senior guard leads the team with 16.0 points per game, shooting 50.5 percent from the floor and 40.3 percent from three. She has the highest career free-throw percentage (88.3%) among active Division III players and her 1,432 career points rank second in DePauw history, trailing Amy Argetsinger (2001-05) by just 15 points.

Douglas joins Trees on the first-team after earning honorable mention accolades in 2014. The Butler transfer averages 11.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while leading the team with 31 blocks and 37 steals. In the Tigers' regular season victory in overtime against Wittenberg, Douglas pushed her career collegiate point total to 1,000 and she currently has 1,049 points (485 at Butler, 564 at DePauw).

Ondik rounds out the Tigers' selections, earning second-team honors. The senior sharp-shooter is second on the team averaging 11.7 points per game with a team-high 71 assists. Ondik ranks third in school history with 191 career three-pointers made and has hit 44.2 percent from beyond the arc in her four seasons which is the highest percentage among active Division III players.

All three players earned NCAC player of the week honors during the 2014-15 regular season, helping DePauw earn its 12th straight NCAA postseason bid and 16th in the last 20 years.

The Tigers open NCAA Tournament play on Friday, March 6, when they host Hanover starting at 7 p.m.
