Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana has scheduled another Senior Mobile Pantry event for Putnam County residents age 55 and older on Thursday, April 2.

The latest venture is slated for Thursday at the Greencastle National Guard Armory (northeast corner of Arlington Street and Shadowlawn Avenue), beginning with registration at 10 a.m. (persons are asked not to arrive before 9:30). The program will conclude at noon.

To receive free food, residents must present an ID offering both proof of residency and age. Participants are asked to bring their own bags or boxes to carry the food.

Seniors must come in person in order to receive food. No substitute pick-up is allowed for those unable to attend themselves.

All persons are asked to use the front door of the Armory (facing Arlington Street) due to trucks and vehicles parked in the rear.

Gleaners plans to conduct a food giveaway in Greencastle every month through June after which time the program will be evaluated), Putnam County Food Emergency Food Pantry Director Judy Miller said.
