Banner Graphic: What are you most looking forward to about high school.

Claire Gillen: The more advanced style of sports play. They are older so they will have more experience than I am. I'm just looking for the good challenge.

BG: What is the biggest difference between soccer and basketball?

CG: I'm a goal keeper so it's more like a mind thing. You have to commit to you first decision. In basketball you can prepare yourself and get ready for the shot.

BG: What is your favorite thing about basketball?

CG: Blocking shots. The crowd goes crazy and you feel really accomplished.

BG: Who are some of your best friends on the team?

CG: Bailey Shuee, Aubrey Barker, Seelye Stoffregan and Jalyn Duff. I've known Aubrey since I was in third grade. I've known Bailey since I was in second and Jalyn since fourth.

BG: What has been you favorite memory at GMS?

CG: This year we beat two teams that completely destoyed us last year. I thought that was pretty cool that we could come back and beat two incredible teams.

BG: What can sports teach you about life?

CG: It can teach you to move on. If you miss a shot you have to keep going. If you make a dumb foul and then you get mad, you'll have to move past it. It's the same thing in life. If you get into financial trouble you've got to move on and figure out a way to solve it.

BG: Who do you look up to in your personal life for inspiration?

CG: Probably my Dad. He's a business owner. So I just admire that because he's a very good man.
