CLOVERDALE -- Just as Cloverdale Community Schools closed up for spring break, wrestling was heating up the high school gymnasium. This year 96 wrestlers were bidding to be the champion of their weight class, setting a participation record year for the 2015 elementary wrestling program.
Late in March, the Cloverdale Elementary Wrestling Program concluded its three-week season. With 24 total weight classes and 96 wrestlers ranging in age from four to 10, this year could be classified as nothing but a success and a great stride for the Clover wrestling program.
The wrestlers were placed on four teams, each sponsored by four different local businesses, Blue Bird Salon, Ponderosa Aqua Farm, Cloverdale Drugs and Endeavor Communications. All the teams coached by volunteer coaches Richard Bennett, Tony Evans, Kyle Ellis and Chris Kaufman respectively. The Entire program was lead by Cloverdale head wrestling coach Christian Frye.

"We would like to congratulate all of our wrestlers, coaches, team champions, and individual champions for a great season. Also we want to and graciously thank our parents and sponsors for making this season a great experience for all of the wrestlers," Frye said.
The Cloverdale Elementary Wrestling program consisted of three weeks of intense practice and competition. The first week only practice. The second week was mostly comprised of dual meets among the teams, followed in the third week by a dual meet team championship and finally an individual tournament.
