Lady Cougars earn second place
LIZTON -- Monday night against Tri West and Indy Metropolitan, North Putnam's girls track and field team placed second with 52 points. Tri-West took the meet with 102 and Indy Metropolitan had three.
"Though the meet conditions were far from ideal, I thought the girls did well," NPHS coach Kevin Lutes said. "We still have a lot of work that needs to be done, but I like how we are progressing."
North Putnam will face Crawfordsville at home on Thursday.

Shot Put: Adri Milliken (29') took second followed by Ricki Evans in 4th (24' 7").
Discus: Lyndi Parent, Ainslee Vogt, and Carlie Bundy placed 2nd (80'), 3rd (70' 4"), and 4th (68').
Long Jump: Emily O'Neal was 3rd (14' 3")
High Jump: Anita Spencer and Gabby Carney took 3rd (4' 2") and 4th (4').
3200 relay: Nunez/Henninger/Springmeyer/Abby Spencer were 2nd (12:20)
100HH: Ashlyn Cooke and Shelby Walker placed 2nd (18.22) and 3rd (18.77)
100: O'Neal in 3rd (13.7)
1600: Abby Spencer placed 3rd (7:03) followed by Kylee Detro taking 4th (7:20)
400 relay: Chevelle Tallman/Anita Spencer/Shelby Fry/O'Neal received 2nd place (57.78)
400: Tallman took 3rd place honors (1:11)
300LH: Walker won (55.37) and Cooke placed 4th (1:03)
800: Alanna Nunez garnered 3rd place (3:07)
200: O'Neal placed 3rd (31.16) while Tori Lowe took 4th (31.38)
1600 relay: Nunez/Fry/Anita Spencer/Tallman received 2nd
