Kenneth M. Patten, 58, of Cloverdale, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 15, 1956 in Putnam County. He was the son of Robert "Bob" Patten and LaVaughn (Smith) Patten, and she survives.

He married Pattie J. (Thomas) Patten on June 24, 1978.

He was a mechanic and third-generation co-owner of Smith Farm Machinery, farmer, a truck driver for the Cloverdale Agri-Center.

He was a 15-year member of the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the former Cloverdale Jaycees.

He loved his family, racing, fishing, target shooting and mushroom hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his mother, LaVaughn (Smith) Patten, Cloverdale; his two sons, Aaron Patten and companion Michelle McCammack, Cloverdale, Matthew Patten and wife Hallie, Medaryville; his brother, Kevin Patten and wife Joyce, Cloverdale; his nephews, Travis Patten and wife Morgan and Kyle Patten and wife Edna; great-nephew Rory Patten and great-niece Maya.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 28 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
