GMS track wins tri-meet with Clovers

The Greencastle Middle School girls' track team defeated Cascade and Cloverdale in an away meet on Thursday. Final scores for the meet were Cascade with 19 points, Cloverdale was second with 40 and Greencastle closed the night with 84.

Top place finishers for Greencastle were throwers, Claire Gillen in the shot put with a throw of 31-8 and Jada Amis in the discus with a throw of 71-7.

Sydney Lewis had a personal record in the long jump with a jump of 13-5. In the races, the top place finishers were Emma Wilson in the 2400 run, with a winning time of 8:18, Seelye Stoffregen in the 100 and 200-meter hurdles with times of 17.5 and 30.14 respectively.

Wilson won the 1600-meter run in 5:27, Erin Thomas won the 400 dash clocking a 1:10 winning time.

Tiger Cub fans also watched as the GMS girls won both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays. Relay team members for the 4 x 100 were Lewis, Thomas, Gretchen Weliever, and Stoffregen and members of the 4 x 400 squad were Wilson, Thomas, Kennedy Trigg and Stoffregen.
