Eagle tennis improving steadily

After a tough outing at Southmont on Tuesday in which the Eagles came up short 5-0, South Putnam's tennis team bounced back and gave Turkey Run a run for its money, losing 3-2 Thursday.

Olivia Arnold lost a close one in the No. 1 singles spot 6-4 and 6-3. In the No. 2 singles spot Elizabeth Bunton lost 6-4 and then 6-0 while Katie Kiste lost 6-0, 7-6 and, 6-0.

However the Eagles', doubles teams were able to pick up some wins. Allacyn Arnold and Savannah Adams lost the first game 6-2 but turned it around, winning 7-5 and 7-6. Chloe Maginity and Cora Neudech won their sets 6-4 and 7-5.

The Eagle team has steadily improved all season and hopes to continue to see successes when it travels to Danville on Tuesday.
