Legionburgers on menu for Saturday at Greencastle Post 58

Grilling up some of the 1,200 Legionburgers sold during a similar occasion last May, Tony Sparks (right) and crew work the steamy grill at the American Legion post on Indianapolis Road.

If you don't like waiting until the annual Putnam County Fair to get your Legionburger fix, Saturday's your day.

Greencastle American Legion Post 58 will be serving Legionburgers -- a Putnam County institution now in their 51st year -- from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 at the post, 1401 E. Indianapolis Rd.

The grilled Legionburgers are priced at $1.25 each.

Hungry visitors can dine in or call ahead and drive through to pick up Legionburgers. More information is available at 653-8939.

The Legion typically uses proceeds from its Legionburger sales to donate to such groups as local fire departments, Boy Scouts, sports programs and more.

  • Don't miss out Saturday, get 'em early!

LEGIONBURGERS are a Putnam County tradition.
