Goldie I. Walther, 82, of Greencastle, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 while a resident at The Waters nursing home.

Goldie was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Edmonson County, Ky., the daughter of Vernon and Maude (Raymer) Wilson.

She graduated from Caneyville High School with the class of 1950.

Goldie worked at various manufacturing jobs and clerical jobs and was also a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Church of God, Terre Haute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Irvin Wilson; a sister, Rheavanna Beam; and her husband, Jacob Walther.

She is survived by her son, John B. Pate, of Brazil; her daughter, Donna Helton and husband David of Indianapolis; grandchildren James Pate, David Pate, Tricia Pate Wilkinson and husband Jason, Nathan Helton and wife Nanci, and Matt Helton and wife Darci; and two great-grandchildren: Aila Helton and Ridley Wilkinson.

Also surviving are two sisters, Glida Minton and Verna Jean Hobbs, both of Louisville, and a brother, Rodney Wilson of Shepherdsville, Ky., as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

At her request, cremation has been entrusted to Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil.
