Correctional Professionals Week celebrated by PCF staff

PUTNAMVILLE -- A week of fun activities and recognition unfolded May 4-8 for the staff at Putnamville Correctional Facility (PCF), in celebration and appreciation those who work in the correctional field.

"We are proud to salute our state-employed correctional employees, contractual staff, and retiree," PCF Supt. Stanley Knight praised. "We have a team that is so dedicated to making our facility run as safe and secure as possible."

Some of the festivities included a canine demonstration, the PCF fire truck on display and a cornhole tournament.

An awards banquet was hosted to honor the staff members for their years of service, awarding education scholarships, as well as employees of the year.

A golf scramble at Oak Ridge Golf Course in Brazil brought out several teams to compete for first prize, while an ice cream social gave out sundaes.

Coney dogs were served to PCF staff members on every shift to say thank you for their

hard work.
