Greencastle Classics turn in superior performances
The Greencastle Classics, the advanced choir at Greencastle High School, has had a notable year for its vocal successes.
At District Solo Ensemble Contest, 13 soloists and three ensembles from the group received Gold Awards in Group I, which qualified them for state competition. At State Solo Ensemble, all three ensembles received gold, as well as 12 of 13 vocalists.
At Vocal Jazz competition in March, the Classics received Gold Awards from all 13 judges in a Group II level performance.
At Organization Contest on April 18, the Classics again received Gold Awards from all three judges in a Group II performance, as well as a Gold in sightreading. With their high scores, the vocalists earned an additional award of "With Distinction."
