Better Get Used to This ...

Monday, May 18, 2015
Barricades went up Monday in downtown Greencastle, closing off South Vine Street to through traffic between Washington and Seminary streets to facilitate the third and final streetscape project of the city's Stellar Communities grant. New pavement, sidewalks and improved drainage are all part of the construction project being undertaken by Schutt-Lookabill Co., Indianapolis. Construction deadline is Oct. 1 on the project. Cross streets Walnut and Poplar remain open at present as construction is due to begin in the alley south of the Post Office.

  • Percy Julian Drive, East Washington Street, Indiana Street, 2 parking lots, downtown facades; agreed, we are looking great! A minor and fairly short-term inconvenience for a long-term benefit.

  • Again, how many parking spaces will be eliminated on the street?

Every day when Depauw is in session, double parked cars and SUVs park on the street next to Starbucks. Have any parking tickets been issued for double parking? Also, delivery trucks are double parked next to Starbucks because the delivery zone was removed.

    Don't forget, THIS IS PROGRESS!
