Catherine 'Katy' Penman

A much loved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, Catherine "Katy" (Hayes) Penman, 82, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2015 with her daughters, Pat Ray (Steve) and Barb Hamblen (Randy), by her side.

Catherine was born Aug. 22, 1932 in Brazil, Ind., to James and Lucinda Mae Hayes (deceased).

Katy enjoyed many years working at Dever Distributing as a bookkeeper.

In retirement, she loved spending time with and spoiling her grandkids, Damon Slaton, Katie Hirt, Erin Gibbons, Drew Hamblen, Clay Hamblen, and her 10 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed sharing stories and laughter with her siblings, Patty Wilson (Joe), Jane Lister (Jim), Rick Hayes (Anne) and Peggy Hayes (Ron).

She was loved by many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will host a celebration of Catherine's life on Sunday, June 7 at 2 p.m. at "The Cabin," located at 12724 N. State Road 59, Brazil.
