Officer Darrel Bunten reported that Stuart Hansen, 20, Greencastle, driving a 2004 Honda Accord, and Shirley Nash 76, Greencastle, in a 2006 Toyota, arrived at the intersection almost simultaneously and stopped at the stopsign.

Both drivers then reportedly proceeded into the intersection and a collision occurred.

Hansen said he had the right of way and entered the intersection southbound on College Avenue. Nash, who was eastbound on Walnut, said she did not see the silver Honda until it was too late to avoid a collision.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

* At 2:42 p.m. Thursday, a hit-and-run accident was reported on Washington Street near its intersection with Indiana Street.

Lannie Allee, of Solana Beach, Calif., had parked his rental car, a 2015 Ford Fuson owned by Holding Corp., Indianapolis, along Washington Street near Starbucks when he witnessed it being sideswiped by an eastbound semi tractor-trailer.

Officer Bunten reported that the semi clipped the parked car, causing it to lunge forward, where it hit the curb and a bike rack before rolling backward into Washington Street.

There it rolled into the path of a 2014 Toyota, driven by Fredrick Buttery, 62, Greencastle, police said.

The semi continued eastbound on Washington Street without stopping and was not located.

Total damage in the mishap was listed at $5,000-$10,000.

The vehicle was drivable and the animal was not injured.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

Rackley told Capt. Tom Helmer she failed to see Stites' car and backed into its passenger door with the left rear of her truck.

A large box truck was reportedly parked north of Rackley's truck, obstructing her view.
