Brazil Band to feature 'Musical Pleasures'

BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will present "Musical Pleasures" Sunday, June 14 at 8 p.m., at Forest Park rain or shine.

New to the BCB is "English Suite" by Clare Grundman with "The Oak And The Ash," "Barb'ra Allen," "The Girl I left Behind" and "The British Grenadiers."

Also new is "The Golden Age of Broadway" arranged by John Moss with Rodgers and Hammerstein favorites "Bali Ha'i," "Oklahoma," "Getting To Know You," "Carousel Waltz" and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."

Indiana's own "Hoagy Carmichael: An American Classic" includes "Lazy River," "Star Dust," "Heart And Soul," "Skylark" and "Georgia On My Mind" in a setting by James Kessler.

From "Guys And Dolls," arranged by Calvin Custer, the BCB will play "Luck Be A Lady," "I've Never Been In Love Before" and "A Bushel And A Peck" among others.

"The Band Played On" arranged by Paul Yoder and "With Pleasure" by John Philip Sousa will be heard along with the marches "Ringling Bros. Grand Entry" by Al Sweet, "La Roquina" by W. B. Green and "Emblem Of Unity" by J. J. Richards.
