Joice 'Bud' Everett Collins
Joice "Bud" Everett Collins, 75, of Staunton, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 6:40 a.m.
Bud was born in Terre Haute on March 25, 1940, the son of Harry Leonard and Flossie Lavella (Keller) Collins. Bud attended high school and later earned his GED at the age of 46.
Bud worked at several places over the years including Davis Gardens, General Housewares, Tri-Aerospace and Hulman Farms. He retired from I.A.C. in 2010 at 70 years old.
When he wasn't working he enjoyed writing music, playing guitar and singing. He also enjoyed restoring vehicles and was most proud of his 1950 Chevy, camping, his dogs Taco and Tiny and spending time with his family.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack Collins and Bob Collins, sisters Ethel Gilbert and Joan Riggs, great-grandson Andrew Stanton Jr. and son-in-law Charles Branham Sr.
Survivors include his wife Gladys (Fulk) Collins whom he married March 26, 1967; children: Joyce E. Scank (Richard), Lisa Lynn Collins, William "Mandy Nichole" Everett Collins (Jennifer), Janet E. Eaglin (Terry), Loretta J. Branham and Betty R. Bashaw (James); and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, on Thursday, June 18 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
