On Sunday, May 31, 2015, Jerald "Jerry" Kent Noll, 58, of Escondido, Calif., died peacefully in the company of his family after a brave battle with cancer.

He was born on January 21, 1957 in Greencastle and was the oldest of the five children of Rea J. Cannon and Paul E. Noll.

Jerald graduated North Putnam High School in 1975 and Purdue University School of Engineering in 1980. After graduating college, Jerald received a job offer in California and made the long road trip cross country and noted to those close, he was thrilled when he arrived in California and his first stop was to see the ocean.

In 1986, Jerald married the love of his life, Julie Anne Noll on Oct. 5 and they spent a beautiful life together.

Jerald's generosity, kindness, dedication and love will live on through his large family and friends. Jerald is survived by his loving wife Julie, son Herbert B. Brohn III, son and daughter-in-law Jacob Andrew and Jamie Deutch Noll, son Nicholas Noll, grandson Henry Noll, parents Rea J. Cannon and Paul E. Noll, father- and mother-in-law Al and Margaret Nuņez, siblings and brothers- and sisters-in-law Steve Harrell and Jeannetta Bunch, Kerry and Jenny Noll, Tony and Mary Minton and James Noll, and many nephew and nieces.

Jerald worked for nearly 20 years programming and managing at Microsoft before moving to California in 2013 and working at Brandes Investment.

Jerald was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking long walks and exploring nature. Whether tending his rose garden, hiking, grilling or at the zoo, one could always count on Jerald to say "That's funny" or tell you that you were "Looking good!"

Jerald was a talented artist, dabbling in photography and painting, but his most recent and favorite hobby was woodworking. Jerald did not do anything lightly. If he was going to do something, he made sure he was doing it to the best of his ability by reading copious books, researching the best equipment, and practicing. He undoubtedly passed this trait onto his sons.

While Jerald loved many things in life, most of all he loved spending time with his devoted family.

Jerald's funeral mass will be held at San Antonio Catholic Church, in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday, June 27 at 10 a.m. Following mass, there will be a celebration of Jerald's life at The Orange County Mining Company, North Tustin, Calif.

Please send any donations in Jerald's honor to the American Cancer Society.
