Richard Clinton Weaver

Sunday, July 5, 2015

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Richard Clinton Weaver attended elementary school in Barbourville, Ky., and continued his schooling at Greencastle Middle School and High School.

During his years in Greencastle, Richard was a member of the GHS band and active in Boy Scouts.

He loved sports of any kind, particularly basketball and soccer.

He attended Greencastle Presbyterian Church.

In the summer, Richard loved being a percussionist in Brazil Concert Band.

After graduation, service in the U.S. Coast Guard took him to Portland, Ore., and at the end of that time, Richard returned to Indiana for several years, working in Greencastle and Indianapolis. In recent years, and up until the time of his death, Richard lived and worked in Hilversum in The Netherlands, spending his free time coaching an American-style football team there.

Tragically, Richard passed away from a pulmonary embolism shortly after returning to Indiana on a trip earlier this year.

Surviving are Richard's parents, Kay and Don, of Greencastle; siblings Karen, David and Randi; sisters-in-law Pam and Lolita; nieces Emmy and Claire and nephew Octavian.

A devoted father, Richard leaves behind a son, Quenton, who lives in The Netherlands with his mother.

A memorial service for Richard will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 at Greencastle Presbyterian Church.

Richard's charming personality and outgoing manner will be missed by his family and friends and anyone who knew Richard is invited to attend.
