Windy Hill Country Club to host Rally for the Cure event July 19

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

Windy Hill Ladies Golf Association (LGA) is hosting a Rally for the Cure Golf Scramble on Sunday, July 19.

Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program working to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events. More than two million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996.

Windy Hill LGA has registered for the Rally event and invites the public to take part. The day's activities will include a men's 18-hole scramble with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m., and the women's 18-hole scramble beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner of the event and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items plus a subscription to a select Conde Nast magazine such as SELF, Golf Digest and Bon Appetit.

"We are proud to open our facility and host a Rally for the Cure event. The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members and the community to support an important cause while playing a sport they are passionate about," Windy Hill pro Brad Hassen said.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. for the men's scramble. Cost for the event will be $60. The fee will include greens fees, cart fees, donation to the Susan G. Koman organization, two mulligans and lunch.

All other funds raised from this event will stay in Putnam County to provide cancer screenings for those in need here at home.

To register a team or as an individual to be placed on a team call Windy Hill at 653-5470 or Sue Resner at 653-6869.

Hole sponsors are welcome at $50.
