2015 Putnam County Fair queen contestants

Editor's note: This is part two of two.

The 2015 Putnam County Fair Queen contest is set to take place this weekend.

The contest will take place Saturday, July 11 at the fairgrounds Community Building at 7 p.m.

Contestants will be judged on the basis of beauty, poise and personality, which will determine in both preliminary and personal judging and public contest.

The winner will represent Putnam County in Miss Indiana State Fair Pageant.

Heather Goss

Heather Goss, 19, is the daughter of Gordon and Rachel Goss. She has two siblings, Taylor Goss, 15, and Morgan Goss, 13.

The 2014 Cloverdale High School graduate is attending Purdue University, studying agriculture education.

Her sponsor is Goss Oil Company.

Goss was a 10-year 4-H member, having participated in the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club and swine for all 10 years. She also participated in beef (4 years), sheep (3) and cooking (2).

Her activities include membership of Millgrove United Methodist Church, Purdue Collegiate Farm Bureau, College Mentors for Kids (CMFK), agriculture education mentor/mentee program, Purdue University dance marathon and IAAE-Purdue.

Her accomplishments include Indiana State STAR in Ag Placement 2014, grand champion gilt in Putnam County 2014, First Women's Empowerment Seminar Selectee to Rio de Janerio 2013 and CMFK National Chapter Mentor of the Year selectee.

Goss' hobbies include playing softball, spending time with family and friends, participating in dance marathons to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital and working with children.

Her future plans include working as an advisor to the FFA.

"After graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education, I plan on working in the public school system teaching middle and high school students about agriculture and leadership. I will also be working as an FFA advisor."


Kristen Rudolph

Kristen Rudolph, 20, is the daughter of Roger and Kimberly Rudolph. She is the younger sister of Matt Rudolph, 23.

The South Putnam High School graduate is attending Ivy Tech, studying interior design.

Her sponsors include 3D Tires and Fun Shirts and More.

Rudolph was a 10-year 4-H member, having participated in Jolly Juniors 4-H Club, sewing, dairy and photography for all 10 years. She was also a 4-H camp counselor and participated in scrapbooking for 9 years.

Her activities include youth group at Greencastle Christian Church, with which she attended mission trips to Kentucky and Boston. She was a cheerleader at South Putnam for five years and participated in All Star Competitive Cheer for four years.

Her hobbies include crafts, sewing, watching movies and hanging out with friends.

She is currently employed at Texas Roadhouse and Family Video.

Her future plans include owning her own business.

"I plan to obtain a degree in interior design with a business minor. I hope to someday own my own interior design business and be successful."


Marlee Nichols

Marlee Nichols, 18, is the daughter of Terry and Kim Nichols of Greencastle. She has two siblings, Kenzee Salzberger, 25, and Maycee Nichols, 22.

The 2015 Greencastle High School graduate plans to attend IUPUI in the fall to become a registered nurse.

Her sponsor is Toney Well Drilling Inc.

Nichols has presented goats in 4-H for 9 years, beef cows for 5 years, dairy cows for 2 years, poster for one year and scrapbook for one year.

Her activities include CIY believe and SLAM with church youth group, as well as volunteer community projects through the church youth group such as raking leaves, food pantry, cleaning homes and visiting nursing homes.

She has a certified nurse's aid (CNA) certification, Area 30 student council member, HOSA member and NTHS member.

Her accomplishments include being awarded the grand champion pygmy doe for three years.

Her hobbies include baking, scrapbooking, canvas art, shopping and fishing.

She is employed at Thomas' Pizza King and Autumn Glen.

Her future plans are focused on become a registered nurse.


Kristen Stevens

Kristen Stevens, 18, is the daughter of Gary and Julie Stevens of Greencastle. She has two siblings, Nick, 24, and Ryan, 22.

The 2015 Greencastle High School graduate plants to attend Purdue University in the fall to study agriculture economics.

Her sponsor is Putnam Inn Family Restaurant.

Stevens was a 10-year 4-H member, having participated in dairy and swine for all 10 years. She also participated in gardening (5 years), foods (3), consumer clothing (2), geology (1), crafts/latch hook (1) and horse and pony (1).

Stevens' activities include Student Council, National Honor Society, Latin Club, Pep Club/G Club, swimming, cheerleading, Rising Generation Youth Group, Special Olympics Unified Partner, choir, FFA, fall musicals, state science fair qualifier, swimming academic all-state and Tri Kappa Cumulative Academic Honors.

Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, swimming, volunteering, shopping, spending time with friends, baking, scrapbooking and working with children.

Stevens' future plans include "attending Purdue University for a degree in AgEcon, travel to all 50 states, get married and raise my family on a farm in Putnam County."
