County Jail

Three people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Geri Danyel Capps, 25, Greencastle, was charged with probation violation.

At 1 p.m. Kali Jane Rugenstein, 30, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for probation violation.

* At 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Clinton Warren Gibson, 47, was booked in for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Tamara Mobley, 47, Greencastle, was arrested at the Walmart store on Indianapolis Road for attempted theft.

Officer Matt Huffman reported that Mobley attempted to take $521.94 worth of merchandise without paying for it and was stopped before she left the store.

Mobley, who was lodged in the Putnam County Jail, reportedly tried to take pillows, spray paint and men's and women's clothing, Huffman reported.

-- At 10:04 p.m. Wednesday, Cory Smith 19, Fillmore, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Smith was arrested at Burger King on Indianapolis Road.

He was taken into custody on a Putnam County warrant for escape.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a recent property-damage accident.

At 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Arial N. Immel, Lebanon, was westbound on U.S. 40 near County Road 850 East in a 1996 Nissan Maxima when she fell asleep.

The vehicle left the north side of the highway and hit a road sign. It continued approximately 20 yards and hit a raised rock embankment, coming to rest about 10 yards from the embankment.

Immel told Deputy Matt Biggs she was suffering from head and chest pain. Operation Life took her to Hendricks Regional Health.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department assisted with one medical run and responded to two other dispatches recently.

* At 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, GFD responded to the IAC factory, located at 750 S. Fillmore Rd. It was a false alarm.

* At a 8:53 p.m. Tuesday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 410 S. Indiana St. The alarm was set off by cooking.
