Thursday, July 30, 2015

A group of local football parents are hoping the chance to win Colts, Notre Dame or Purdue football tickets will help them raise funds for the upcoming football season.

The Greencastle Football Parents Club (GFPC) will host a silent auction on Friday, Aug. 7 at the Dixie Chopper Business Center.

Besides the football tickets, attendees will have the chance to bid on more than 100 items including two televisions, two grills, a surround sound system, a number of one-night hotel stays plus dinner in Indianapolis, Craftsman tools, handmade picnic tables, athletic passes and many other items.

Tickets are available for $10 and include a dinner of baked chicken, pulled pork and assorted sides and desserts. Tickets are available at Dave's Heating and Cooling as well as Collins Evans Real Estate. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The event is sponsored by POET Biorefining.

GFPC was established as a 501(c)(3) in the spring by a group of Greencastle parents, alumni and fans who wanted to support the GHS football program.

The club exists to develop and attitude of pride for Greencastle football, provide financial support for the equipment needs of the program and engage the membership and the community in activities of the football program.

This specific fundraiser will be used for jerseys and an end zone camera for the coming season.

All community members are encouraged to attend, not just those with a direct tie to Greencastle football.
