SETH BROWN, a 2014 graduate of Greencastle High School and former Tiger Cub wide receiver and pitcher, recently joined the United States Army.

After attending Indiana State University for one semester and making the dean's list, Brown decided he would prefer to serve his country.

He left on March 30 for Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., for one station unit training. Brown graduated on July 17 as MOS 12C Bridge Crewmember Combat Engineers.

At this time, Pvt. Brown will be stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood.


Bainbridge resident MARISSA PARENT recently graduated with honors from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Parent completed her MSOE education by receiving a Bachelor of Science in management information systems on May 23.

Undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA between 3.20 and 3.69 are listed as having graduated with honors.

Milwaukee School of Engineering is an independent, non-profit university with about 2,800 students that was founded in 1903. MSOE offers bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering, business, mathematics and nursing.


Coatesville Native ANDREW FERREL was recently recognized as a Future Giant of the Seed Industry by Seed World Magazine.

A commercial agronomist for Mycogen Seeds, Ferrel is one of the top four national nominees.

Ferrel was honored at American Seed Trade Association's 132nd annual convention in Washington, D.C. Julie Deering of Seed World shared, "The future of the seed industry is in good hands."

A commercial agronomist in Indiana, Ferrel is one of many experts on the Mycogen Seeds Agronomy Services team. He works directly with growers to place and manage corn hybrids and soybean varieties to maximize performance. In addition, he proactively develops educational materials to help retailers, growers and company sales representatives to address local agronomic issues. Outside of work, Ferrel volunteers with the local FFA and 4-H chapters.
