Four Putnam County scholars were among the 245 students who received the Bachelor of Arts degree during Hanover College's 182nd annual commencement ceremony, held Saturday, May 23, at The Point on the college's campus.

* JESSE MACGRUDER, a chemistry major from Coatesville, is the son of Dennis and Alice MacGruder. MacGruder graduated from North Putnam High School.

* TANNER PARKER, a geology major from Greencastle, graduated cum laude with geology departmental honors and earned the

Distinguished Award in Geology. He is the son of Tony and Sherri Parker. Parker graduated from Greencastle High School.

* COLIN COBB, psychology and philosophy double major from Reelsville, graduated with philosophy departmental honors and earned the Distinguished Award in Philosophy. He is the son of Terry Cheatham. Cobb graduated from South Putnam High School.

* MEGAN ROBINSON, a sociology major from Roachdale, graduated magna cum laude with sociology departmental honors and earned the Henry C. Long Citation for Scholarship and General Excellence given to the outstanding senior female. Additionally, she earned The Robert R. and Clara J. Beach Award in Sociology. She is the daughter of Roland and Melissa Robinson. Robinson graduated from North Putnam High School.

Located on 650 acres overlooking the Ohio River in southeastern Indiana, Hanover College is a nationally ranked liberal arts institution that has core strengths in the sciences, education and business.


RACHEL JERVIS of Reelsville graduated from Greenville College on May 23. Jervis graduated with a Bachelor of Science in music.

Greenville College is a four-year accredited Christian liberal arts school with more than 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students. Founded in 1892 and affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, the college is located in Greenville, Ill., 45 miles east of St. Louis.
