Ronald Edward Sample

Ronald Edward Sample, 85, formerly of Cloverdale, passed away on Aug. 5, 2015 at The Village of Avon. He was born on Jan. 15, 1930 at Forest Hills, Pa., and was the son of the late Floyd Forrest Sample and Marie Helen (Pindur) Sample.

He married Sara Patricia (Belcher) Sample Nov. 2, 1966 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Paula Marie Radican and Michael, Charelene Hambrick and Steven, Gregory Sample and Maria, Ronald Eric Sample, Everett Forest Sample and Julie, Bradford Wilson Sample and Michelle and Brett Allen Sample and Siri; his sisters, Louise Cummings, Laura Sanders and John; his brothers, Floyd Sample, Walter Sample and Wilma, Robert Sample and Darlene and Mark Sample and Linda; 27 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was a tool and die maker for Allison's at Indianapolis.

He was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Cloverdale. He also served as the coach of the 1972-1973 National Champion Indianapolis Mustangs Wheelchair Basketball Team.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Forrest and Marie Helen Sample; his sisters, Helen Thompson, Alice Sample and Elaine Sample; his brothers, William Sample and George Sample; his granddaughter Theresa Sample; and his grandson, Joseph Radican.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Kinneman Cemetery.
