Club appreciates support of GHS football

To the Editor:

Friday evening, Aug. 7 was a special evening for Greencastle football. The silent auction hosted by the Greencastle Football Parents Club and sponsored by POET Biorefining of Cloverdale was a huge success on many different levels (attendance, donations, financial and community).

Over 150 people were in attendance, with many being members of our community, but not having a player on the 2015 team.

We more than doubled our income projection for the event, grossing over $9,000 that will be used for white game jerseys and an end zone camera system.

Perhaps the biggest win from the evening, however, was the fellowship enjoyed and the strengthening of community centered around Greencastle football. We added another layer of support for the 2015 team.

Friday, Aug. 21 is our opening game and also Greencastle Youth Football Night. Please encourage your friends and family to attend and enjoy an evening in Harbison Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m. "Expect Victory -- Beat North!"

We were blessed with over 100 different individual items and bundles of items donated primarily by businesses in Greencastle and Putnam County. We are very appreciative to these businesses for their generosity and support of Greencastle football.
