Archer named VP and CFO of Knox College

GALESBURG, Ill. -- A former DePauw University administrator and Greencastle resident recently accepted an appointment to a college vice president position in western Illinois.

Keith Archer, most recently the DePauw executive director of finance and controller, accepted the post of vice president for finance and chief financial officer at Knox College.

Archer worked at DePauw for 10 years, first as controller, before being promoted to executive director of finance and controller in 2010.

In all, Archer and wife Melissa made their home in Greencastle for 19 years. Their two children, Tyler and Ashlyn, both graduated from Greencastle High School before earning their bachelor's degrees from DePauw.

Archer's community involvement in Greencastle included serving on the board of directors of the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Putnam County Library and Putnam County Community Foundation.

In addition, he was a member of the curriculum committee for Greencastle Community Schools, the Rotary Club of Greencastle and served as a 4-H Club leader for 10 years.

Archer received his bachelor's degree in accounting, with a minor in management, from Maryville University in St. Louis. He also has worked in retail management, handling customer service, hiring, training and performance evaluation.
