County Jail

Five people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

* At 10:10 a.m. Mark Gabriel Albright, 30, Crawfordsville, was arrested on a warrant.

* At 2:36 p.m. John Robert Thomas Jr., 24, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

* At 3:15 p.m. Rebecca Brown, 39, Danville, was booked in on a warrant.

* At 7:10 p.m. Erick Douglas Knight, 34, Cloverdale, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, theft, failure to appear and bond revocation.

* At 8:05 p.m. James Richard Lamb, 35, Coatesville, was arrested for failure to appear.

Sheriff's Department

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department worked one recent property damage accident.

* At 11:21 p.m. on Thursday, Charlene M. York, 26, Danville, was eastbound on County Road 350 North approaching a 90-degree turn in a 1997 Ford F150.

York told Deputy Virgil Lanning that she wasn't familiar with the road and drove off a curve. The truck struck a utility pole, breaking the pole and coming to rest facing east.

Vehicle was disable and had to be towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one dispatch Thursday night.

* At 11:06 p.m, GFD investigated an odor complaint at 800 N. Madison St. The department monitored the air in the area after the homeowner complained of a sewer smell outside. No issue was found.
