County Jail

Six people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 8:30 p.m. Friday, Donald Robert Bottoms, 56, Roachdale, was taken into custody on a warrant.

* At 11:50 a.m. Saturday, Vicki Lynn Albietz, 65, Cloverdale, was arrested for battery and neglect of a dependent.

* At 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Matthew Kimball Kodad, 30, Bicknell, was lodged at the jail on a warrant and for operating having never received a license.

At 10:02 p.m. Jason Robert Hoffarth, 36, Greencastle, was charged with operating while intoxicated.

At 11:30 p.m. Salaam Ahmed, 30, Chicago, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

* At 2:25 p.m. Monday, Jonas Dwayne Revell, 18, Tuscola, Ill., was booked in for motor vehicle theft.

City Police

Six recent citations were issued by Greencastle City Police.

* At 5:13 p.m. Sunday, Dale Greeson, 47, Fillmore, was ticketed for speeding by Reserve Officer Jes Seipel.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Greeson was cited for 52 mph in a 30-mph.

* At 6:52 a.m. Sunday, Cody Wade, 25, Bowling Green, was cited by Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Wade was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

* At 6:55 a.m. Thursday, Thomas Stearley, 45, Greencastle, was ticketed by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Stearley was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

* At 5:08 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, Kelly Craig, 54, Cloverdale, was cited for speeding by Reserve Officer Seipel.

Stopped on Zinc Mill Road, Craig was ticketed for 48 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, Charles Bishop, 53, Roachdale, was ticketed by Reserve Officer Seipel.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Bishop was cited for having an expired license plate (July 14, 2015).

* At 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, Sarah High, 28, Brazil, was ticketed for speeding by Officer Eastham.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, High was cited for 53 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies worked one recent property-damage accident.

* At 9:21 p.m. Saturday, Ivan A. Marks, 20, Quincy, was eastbound on County Road 1000 South just east of County Road 550 East in a 2001 Dodge Durango.

Marks told Deputy Stephen Smith he was not familiar with the road and was unaware of the sharp turn to the north. He noticed the turn too late and attempted to brake, but could not slow enough to make the turn.

The SUV continued straight off the road and hit a guy wire from a power pole, continuing into a second set of guy wires.

Marks and two passengers declined medial attention. A fourth person also said she was not injured, but she was pregnant and evaluated by Operation Life medics. The fourth passenger was a minor, therefore unable to sign a statement of release, so she was taken to Putnam County Hospital.

Hendricks County REMC was called to the scene and determined it to be safe.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

Cloverdale Police

The Cloverdale Police Department arrested one person recently.

Kenneth D. Utterback, 57, Edinburgh, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and received citations for driving left of center and driving while suspended.

CPD issued the following citations recently:

* Randy Newport, 57, Quincy, false and fictitious registration, driving while suspended and operating without financial responsibility.

* Jason J. Juelfs, 27, Cloverdale, excessive smoke and fumes, improper use of horn, operating a vehicle without proof of financial responsibility.

* Jeremiah Thompson, speeding. He was traveling 57 mph in a 45-mph area.

* Terrell Pearson, speeding, He was traveling 71 mph in a 55-mph area.

* Julie E. Miley, speeding. She was traveling 40 mph in a 30-mph area.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department assisted with four medical calls and responded to several other dispatches.

* At 7:54 p.m. Friday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 208 E. Olive St. The alarm was caused by use of hair care products.

* At 11:31 p.m. Friday, GFD was called back to 208 E. Olive St. The cause was unknown.

* At 3:53 a.m. Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 202 E. Hanna St. Upon arrival, DePauw police had already reset the alarm.

* At 7:16 p.m. Saturday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 109 W. Hanna St. The alarm was caused by hair spray.

* At 8:03 a.m. Sunday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 208 E. Olive St. The alarm was caused by use of hair care products.

* At 5:14 p.m., GFD responded to a fire alarm at 418 Anderson St. The alarm was caused by cooking.
