Faculty Select Series: Saxophonists Scotty Stepp, Paul Bro and Friends

Opening the Faculty Select Series is saxophonist and DePauw faculty member Scotty Stepp and guest artist Paul Bro, who will perform -- along with a few of their talented colleagues -- music from David Maslanka's hauntingly beautiful Out of This World, with cellist Kurt Fowler and pianist Martha Krasnican; Takashi Yoshimatsu's Fuzzy Bird Sonata; Links Two by Dan Powers, composer-in-residence with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra; and duets by Juan Ruiz. Solaire Saxophone Quartet then shares the stage with Sam Fritz and Erika (Matson) Stepp '13, on tenor and bari sax, as they close the concert with The Mechanics by Carter Pann.
Green Guest Artist Concert: A Far Cry

At the forefront of a new generation in classical music, the Grammy-nominated, self-conducted orchestra A Far Cry "brims with personality," according to The New York Times. The ensemble's latest album, Law of Mosaics from its in-house label Crier Records, earned a place on The New Yorker's Top-10 list of "Notable Recordings of 2014" and praise from WQXR, which named the group one of its "Imagination-Grabbing, Trailblazing Artists of 2014."
