County Jail
Ten people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.
* At 11:53 a.m. Tuesday, Rodney Brian Amonette, 49, Coatesville, was arrested on a warrant for parole violation
At 4:35 p.m., Zachary Tait Allen, 21, Greencastle, was arrested for bond revocations, possession of marijuana and domestic battery
* At 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, Bradley Lee Cash, 57, Greencastle, was arrested on two counts of operating while intoxicated
At 10:02 a.m., Dylan Tyler Woolen, 20, Martinsville, was arrested for a local warrant for theft.
At 10:32 a.m., Nathaniel Allen Bennett, 23, was arrested on a warrant out of Marion County
At 1:20 p.m., Luke Winders, 36, was taken into custody for a parole violation
At 2:30 p.m., Mathew Marcel Sorrels, 37, was arrested for two warrants
At 7:20 p.m., Daniel Alan Taylor, 19, Coatesville, was arrested for theft
At 8:30 p.m., Matthew Gibson Kennedy, 32, Coatesville, was arrested for driving while suspended
At 10:10 p.m., Ashley Deann Karrish, 32, Greencastle, was arrested for bond revocation, possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia
City Police
A 27-year-old Greencastle man was arrested and lodged in the Putnam County Jail for reckless driving after reportedly being clocked in excess of 100 mph Tuesday morning, Greencastle City Police reported.
Denny Berry-York was stopped by Sgt. Ed Wilson at 8:45 a.m. on Albin Pond Road near Castleton Drive after he was reportedly clocked at 101 mph in a 30-mph zone.
Charged with reckless driving, Berry-York was also ticketed by Sgt. Wilson for speeding.
Two additional citations were issued recently by city officers.
* At 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Capt. Chris Jones stopped a vehicle driven by Mindy Jones, 34, Greencastle, on Percy Julian Drive and issued her two citations.
Jones was ticketed for a seatbelt violation for herself as well as a child passenger seatbelt violation.
Two recent property-damage accidents were also reported by city officers.
* At 7:28 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle mishap was reported on East Washington Street near Wood Street.
Officer Zach Rhine reported that Todd Cochran, 50, Greencastle, was eastbound, driving a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck, when a vehicle in front of him reportedly slowed suddenly and he was forced to hit his brakes. When Cochran did, his truck was struck from behind by a 2007 Toyota Camry, driven by Chloey George, 17, Bainbridge, police said.
Total damage in the accident was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.
* At 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at Veterans Memorial Highway and Warren Drive.
Patricia Wells, 75, Greencastle, was eastbound on Veterans Highway, Officer Darrel Bunten reported, and had signaled to turn left onto Warren Drive, when a 1998 Lincoln Town Car, driven by Thomas Eversole, 22, Greencastle, reportedly pulled into her path.
Eversole reportedly told Officer Bunten that he was attempting to go northbound across the highway on Warren Drive when a semi in the turn lane obstructed his view of traffic. Thinking it was safe to cross, he instead pulled into the path of the Wells car, Bunten said.
Total damage in the collision was listed at $2,500-$5,000.
Sheriff's Department
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department investigated two incidents recently.
* At 1:58 a.m. Tuesday, Operation Life was dispatched to a residence on County Road 400 North in Fillmore for a possible head injury. Thomas Schneider, 38, Fillmore, told medics he suffered the injury in an auto accident.
Deputy Kyle Gibbons was then dispatch to investigate the accident.
Dispatch told Gibbons that Schneider had struck a pole near his residence. While investigating, Gibbons found and overturned 1996 Jeep Laredo down an embankment near the driveway at 5614 E. County Road 300 North. Gibbons said the Jeep appeared to have left the road in a curved grade and struck several trees down the embankment. The vehicle had sustained significant damage.
Gibbons discussed his investigation from County Road 300 North with Schneider, who confirmed his findings. Schneider was unclear as to what question OL was asking about the accident, citing his injury and the need for medical attention as the reason for leaving the scene of the accident. He walked to his house to call for assistance.
Schneider had already signed a statement of release with OL, but Gibbons asked again if he needed further medical attention. Schneider again declined. There were multiple adults at the residence, one of whom said he was there to care for Schneider.
Damage was estimated $10,001-$25,000.
* At 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, Salena S. Cooper, 18, Cloverdale, was traveling southbound on County Road 200 West, approaching County Road 100 South, in a 2004 Honda CR-V.
Cooper told Deputy Steve Smith she began to enter the turn when she noted another vehicle southbound entering the turn. Cooper said the other car appeared to be on her side of the road.
Cooper aid she tried to maneuver out of the path of the oncoming vehicle, losing control and veering off the east side of the road and hitting a tree. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Damage listed as $2,501-$5,000.
Cloverdale Police
The Cloverdale Police Department arrested one person Wednesday.
* At 5:48 p.m. Wednesday, Erik Felix, 25, of Los Angeles, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and driving while suspended. He was also cited for speeding.
Officer Jake Eagan initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 231 due to Felix traveling 72 mph in a 55-mph zone. He had a suspended license from the state of California.
Officers Eagan and Mark Hoppus conducted an inventory of the vehicle prior to being impounded and located a small amount of methamphetamine, as well as paraphernalia associated with the drug.
Felix booked into Putnam County Jail.
CPD issued three citations recently.
* Robert Buskirk, 34, of Poland, driving while suspended-prior, operation of vehicle without proof of financial responsibility, operating without financial responsibility-prior.
* Leslie Coffey, 27, of Cloverdale, driving while suspended-prior, operating without proof of financial responsibility, false and fictitious registration.
* Joshua R. Whelchel, 29, of Poland, operating without proof of financial responsibility and false or fictitious registration.
City Fire
The Greencastle Fire Department assisted with one medical call and investigated one fire alarm recently.
* At 10:20 a.m. Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 309 E. Franklin St., which was due to cooking.
