Craig R. Kenley, 22, Springfield, Ohio, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic, followed by Michael C. Bray, 48, Terre Haute, in a 2005 Toyota Corolla, followed by William E. Alldaffer, 42, Cheyenne, Wyo., in a 2014 Freightliner semi tractor pulling a trailer.

After passing the closure, Alldaffer's semi rear-ended Bray's car, which pushed it into Kenley's vehicle. The three motorists' accounts of the incident all differ slightly.

Alldaffer told Lt. Donnie Pettit that after passing the closure, the two cars pulled into the right lane, then immediately back left. At that time, Alldaffer said Bray braked, causing him to rear-end Bray's car.

Bray told Pettit that only Kenley pulled into the right lane and then back suddenly, causing Bray to brake.

Kenley told the officer he began to slow down because of slowing vehicle in front of him, at which time he was rear-ended.

No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

Reye's Blazer left the road on the south side and hit a pole with the left rear.

The other driver said he was at the intersection and began to pull onto 240 when he noticed Reyes approaching. At that point, he began to back up to be out of the way. However, he said he heard Reyes' brakes lock up and saw her crash into the pole.

Both Reyes and her passenger were examined by Operation Life but signed statements of release.

Damage was listed at $1,001-$2,500.
