CLOVERDALE --Two days before the Putnam County volleyball tourney at North Putnam Saturday, Cloverdale used its opportunity against a county rival to shore up some last minute things.

"It was a good win for us going into county this weekend," CHS coach Kathy Moore said. "We played up tempo, had some terrific saves and played better ball tonight. Our passing was better and we had better net play as well. We are excited to go into county against Greencastle."

The Cloverdale team got a win against the Eagles of South Putnam in three straight sets by the scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-21. The Clover JV also won in two sets.

Leading the Clovers from the service line was Savannah Jones with a career-high 28 points and eight aces.

Also contributing was Christyn Willis with seven points, Kimmy Winders and Lauren Meek with 5fivepoints each. Lindsey Davis and Harley Manion had two each.

Willis had five digs, Winders four, Meek had two, Savannah Jones and Skylar Price each earned three. Manion had two digs while Tori Combs and Lindsey Davis had one each.

CHS will play Greencastle in the County Tournament and South Putnam will take on North Putnam.

The Tiger Cubs beat Cloverdale last week in three competitive games at Cloverdale.
