Fillmore Chicken Barbecue this weekend

FILLMORE -- The 56th annual Fillmore Chicken Barbecue will have added meaning this weekend.

Not only will the Fillmore Volunteer Fire Department be serving its traditional barbecue chicken and all the trimmings Friday and Saturday, but the event will also mark the dedication of the new Fillmore Fire Station.

Serving will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and at noon Saturday. Booths will open in conjunction with that schedule.

Saturday will feature the parade at 1 p.m., followed at 2 p.m. by the dedication of the fire station.

Stat Flight emergency helicopter will make a special demonstration landing at 3 p.m. if available and weather permitting.
