Featured Athlete of the Week: Jake Holtze, Soccer North Putnam High School

Jake Holtze

Jake Holtze was born to Brandi and Kevin Holtze on Aug. 3, 1997. Holtze also plays golf for North Putnam and is involved in National Honor Society.

Holtze enjoys eating pepperoni pizza and watching "The Walking Dead."

He likes watching Mesut Ozil from Arsenal.

Jake Holtze: Senior year is a lot more competitive. I feel like I want to win more games. I want to finish on a good note. It's a lot more competitive and a lot more emotional if you lose. You know it's your last year to do what you want.

BG: What are some of your biggest supporters off the field?

JH: My mom and my dad. They are definitely here supporting me every single game.

BG: What are some of your favorite things about your teammates?

JH: They are so supportive of each other and we play well together. We are a good mix.

BG: What are some of your best memories playing at North Putnam?

JH: Playing soccer in general we have fun all together. We have fun after school activities and just going out as a team. Anything as team is a lot of fun.

BG: What are your favorite things about golf and soccer?

JH: My favorite thing about golf is probably playing with my friend Austin (Judy). He's one of my mentors. I like playing with him. In soccer playing with Austin and Collin and Wesley its alot of fun.

BG: What are your post high school plans?

JH: Probably go to IUPUI. I'll probably study engineering. I dont know ff I want to play soccer.

BG: What interested you about engineering?

JH: My dad. He works at SPI in Pittsboro. He said engineering is a really good job for setting up a life?
