CHAUNCEY BAKER was among the students who graduated from Ball State University during the summer 2015 term.

Baker was awareded a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Additionally, Baker was one of three local students to earn dean's list honors during the summer term.

The summer dean's list recognizes undergraduates who earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average for six or more credits.

The other honored students were JASMINE STUCKEY of Cloverdale and ELLEN WILBORN of Bainbridge.


Indiana State University has announced its dean's lists for the spring and summer 2015 terms.

To be eligible for the list, students must be enrolled full time and maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Two area students made the list for both terms: PAUL ENDERS of Coatesville and TIMOTHY MASON of Fillmore.


Dan Moore, President and CEO of Home Bank SB, has announced that DAVID TAYLOR joined their team as the mortgage loan originator at the Mooresville branch in July. He is responsible for residential mortgage lending, focusing his efforts in Putnam and Hendricks counties.

Taylor has been in the banking industry for 25 years, focused mostly in national banking as a loan officer/credit analyst managing commercial, real estate, and consumer lending portfolios. He also has experience in the ag-consumer field where he was responsible for growth and development of loan portfolios including, but not limited to, construction, purchase money and refinancing

Taylor is a Greencastle native and attended Greencastle Senior High School before obtaining his bachelor degree in English literature at DePauw University. In his spare time, he enjoys serving on the board of trustees for the Putnam County Public Library and spending time with his friends and family.


HEATH PRUITT of Greencastle was among the 4,144 students who graduated at the University of Massachusetts Boston in May.

HANNAH GELLMAN of Greencastle was named to the Carleton College Class of 2018 Dean's List.

In recognition of academic excellence, the list is compiled each summer and is drawn from the top 10 percent of the previous year's first-year, sophomore and junior classes.

Founded in 1866, Carleton College is a private liberal arts college in Northfield, Minn., 45 miles south of Minneapolis/Saint Paul.
