Former NPHS golfer doing well at Wabash

A former North Putnam golfer is making a splash at the collegiate level so far this year.

Mason Asher, a 2014 graduate, has been playing well for Wabash College in Crawfordsville.

On the weekend of Sept. 12 and 13, the Little Giants traveled to Anderson to play in the Anderson Invitational, where Asher finished tied for 19th with a 78 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, Asher finished third in stroke play in the Little Giant-Engineer Match Play Classic with a 75.

Then on the weekend of Sept. 19 and 20, Asher played in the Dick Park Invitational at the Fort Golf Club west of Indianapolis and carded a 77 on Saturday and a 74 on Sunday to place sixth and earn a spot on the all-tournament team.

This weekend, Asher finished 29th in the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic, hosted by DePauw University at Twin Bridges Golf Club in Danville. Asher had a 79 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday.

Asher will play this coming weekend in the Wabash Golf Classic at the Crawfordsville Country Club.
