Author's talk and book sale to be hosted at PCPL

Friday, October 2, 2015

Putnam County Public Library will host an author's talk and book sale and signing by Michael Martone, author and editor of "Winesburg, Indiana." He will be joined by with contributing authors Greg Schwipps and Barbara Bean.

The event will be Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the library.

Martone's talk is part of his annual Double Wide Book Tour of Indiana. Malone describes this book as "... a kind of hybrid. It is a collection of my short stories -- all set in Winesburg which I invented and designed--and it is also an anthology of more than a dozen other midwestern writers contributing stories about the town."

In the mythical town of Winesburg, there lives a cleaning lady who can conjure up the ghost of Billy Sunday, a lascivious holy man with an unusual fetish and a burgeoning flock, as well as a park custodian who collects the scat left by aliens and a night janitor learning to live with life's mysteries, including the zombies in the cafeteria.
