Early voting available at courthouse

Monday, October 12, 2015

With local municipal elections coming on Tuesday, Nov. 3, early voting is currently available.

Registered voters in Putnam County's cities and towns may vote on the second floor of the courthouse on weekdays from now until Monday, Nov. 2.

Voting hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Early voting ends on Monday, Nov. 3 at noon.

An Indiana driver's license or ID card must be presented prior to voting.

Anyone who wishes to cast an absentee ballot by mail may contact the Putnam County Clerk's Office at 653-2648. The deadline to receive these applications at the clerk's office is Monday, Oct. 26.

Voters confined to their homes who do not wish to vote by mail can request that the travel team come to their residence and assist them in voting.

County wide, nearly 30 offices are up for grabs in the Nov. 3 election, including all nine elected positions -- mayor, clerk-treasurer and seven council positions -- in the City of Greencastle. The clerk-treasurer positions and all council seats are on the ballot for Bainbridge, Fillmore, Roachdale and Russellville. In Cloverdale, clerk-treasurer and three of five council seats will be filled.
