It's time for the much-anticipated WIC football crossover game played this Friday. Unfortunately for Putnam County fans no local team will play in the championship game, which features an undefeated Northview team (8-0) play against Owen Valley (7-1, 5-0 WIC).

North Putnam (7-1, 4-1, WIC) will be playing for the third-place spot at home against Sullivan (6-2, 4-1 WIC).

Sullivan opponents have scored 18 points per game and will be up against a Cougar team that scored 21 points per game. The Cougar defense has been able to hold opponents to less than a touchdown per game, however Sullivan has scored at least 42 points in six of its games.

South Putnam (5-3, 3-2 WIC) will be playing for fifth in the WIC against its old WCC rival Cascade (4-4, 3-2, WIC). For many years the Eagle-Cascade rivalry was one of the most hyped in the area and the crossover game could prove interesting, especially if the banged-up Eagles can get some of their key players back onto the field.

The Cloverdale team (1-7, 0-5 WIC) will be playing for ninth at home against South Vermillion (2-6, 1-4 WIC).

This game will be a rematch of the 36-6 Wildcat victory in September. Cloverdale has seen improvement on the field in recent weeks, but is still looking to see that improvement translate to the scoreboard.

Playing for the 11th spot is Greencastle (1-7, 0-5 WIC ) who will be taking on Brown County (1-7, 0-5 WIC). Brown County forfeited its only conference win, due to playing an ineligible player who wasn't cleared by the IHSAA. Both the Tiger Cubs and the Eagles are scoring eight points per game but the Tiger Cubs are allowing more at 26 to Brown County's 23.
